Firm History
Todd & Todd has a long tradition of trusted accounting and financial guidance. The firm’s roots extend back several generations in the accounting profession.
The firm’s history reflects both a long tradition in the accounting profession and a commitment to family leadership. One of the earliest figures connected to the firm’s legacy is Emory’s Grandfather, Charles W. Todd. Charles was an early Certified Public Accountant in Philadelphia who was part of the first generation of professionals licensed after Pennsylvania established the CPA credential in 1899. In 1911 Charles and colleagues founded the firm “Todd, Bird and Carlson, CPA’s” in Philadelphia. These early CPAs helped shape the standards and practices that continue to define the accounting profession today.
Many years later, Emory founded the current firm and developed it into a trusted accounting practice serving individuals and the business community in Southeastern, PA. Through his dedication, professionalism, and strong client relationships, the firm established a reputation for reliable service and practical financial guidance.
In late 2000, Emory’s son Ryan joined the firm and it was rebranded to the current name “Todd & Todd, CPA’s”. Over the past 25 years, Ryan C. Todd expanded the firm’s services to include wealth management, recognizing that many clients benefit from integrated financial guidance that goes beyond traditional accounting and tax services. By bringing wealth management into the firm’s offerings, he created a more comprehensive approach to helping clients plan, grow, and protect their financial futures.
Continuing the family tradition, Ryan Todd later acquired the firm from his father. Under Ryan’s leadership, the firm continues to build on the strong foundation established by Emory Todd, combining longstanding professional values with modern accounting and financial planning services to meet the evolving needs of clients.
